My Take on 2727 Kirby

When it went up in 2008, 2727 Kirby brought luxury high-rise living to a whole new neighborhood in Houston. It really stood out as there was nothing else around it at the time, and even though some apartment towers have gone up recently it still dominates the skyline on Upper Kirby just north of 59. That makes for some of Houston's best high-rise views as you have the Galleria skyline to the west, Downtown to the East and Memorial/River Oaks to the North. The developer really took advantage of that too with walls of glass making the condos feel like they're floating above the city.
The condos here are big, with the smallest two-bedroom starting out at around 1800 square feet and then it goes up to around 3,000 square feet pretty fast from there. Many of them feature fireplaces, large kitchens and big, usable covered terraces. The original finish from 2008 has held up well but is starting to look a little dated, particularly in the baths. But many of these units have already been updated through the years and some are worthy of being in Architectural Digest. The dramatic views and walls of glass at this building really attracts modern architecture fans and they've done amazing work in some of the homes.
This is a full-service, full-amenity building which may give you sticker shock when you see the monthly HOA dues. But the clients I've talked to don't seem to mind when you see what you get in return, like fantastic security and privacy in the heart of the city. Amenities include a infinity-edge pool with cabanas (truly one of the best in the city), modern fitness center, wine storage, pet park, sauna, community room with catering kitchen and much more. Service is at the level of a branded resort hotel building with concierge, porter, valet and maintenance all on-site.
