My Take on The Lofts on Post Oak

The Lofts on Post Oak offer one of the more affordable entry points for buying a condo in the Galleria area, with other options being The Mark and 3525 Sage. Those buildings are a bit further removed though while The Lofts put you right in the heart of the neighborhood on Post Oak between Westheimer and San Felipe. That makes this one of the most walkable developments in the whole area.
I like the more "soft loft" feel of these units vs the traditional condo style like the high ceilings and exposed ductwork. Some owners have leaned into that and added brick facade walls and industrial style kitchens. The original finishes from 2003 feel a little "apartment-y" by today's condo standards and you'll notice that the moment you walk in. But the good news is a lot of them have been upgraded over the years so there's a lot of variety and usually quite a few units available from which to choose. This is a stick construction building so don't expect it to be as quiet as a poured concrete or high-rise tower. You might here some noise from the surrounding units so if that's a problem for you let me know and I'll guide you to a more suitable building. If you don't like street noise there are a lot of units here that face the interior courtyards and pools.
The standout for me at The Lofts is the terrific list of amenities, especially at this price point. There are a LOT of units here (over 350) so to keep everyone happy the developers were smart enough to include multiple pools and outdoor areas. There are two pet parks, a large fitness center, multiple indoor and outdoor lounges, conference rooms, business center and a theater room. I'm sure I'm forgetting some too. And of course there's a front desk concierge and secure parking.
This building allows owners some flexible renting options so it's popular with investors too. That kind of adds to that "apartment-y" feeling I mentioned earlier because there are a lot of renters here. But everything has a price, and with price points this low to be in one of Houston's most expensive neighborhoods it's worth the trade off for many people.
