My Take on SoCo Urban Lofts

SoCo Urban Lofts, together with 1505 Elm and the nearby Metropolitan, brought affordable condo living to Downtown Dallas and ushered in a new wave of residents to the city core in the early 2000's. Since then we've seen many more residential towers, restaurants, pubs and more pop up around Downtown making it a viable residential neighborhood.
Originally built in 1925 as the Santa Fe Railroad warehouse, SoCo was converted into stylish but basic loft residences featuring exposed brick, concrete floors, open floor plans and high ceilings. The vast majority of these are true open warehouse lofts with no walls or separate bedrooms. Some of the plans like the 20 stack have small spaces that have been adapted to bedrooms. And the 21 and 22 stacks have on exterior view - the windows face a brick wall where very little sunlight gets through and the prices reflect that. There are a handful of two-story units on the rooftop amenity deck that have balconies (the only units to have them).
Amenities include a rooftop pool with skyline views, fitness center, secure parking and secure entry. It's in a very walkable location now that the city has developed around it and DART rail has expanded. This could be a great building for a pied-e-terre in the city or an investment condo too.
