My Take on The Huntingdon

Word on the street is that when Huntingdon was built in 1983 the units didn't sell very quickly because of the troubled oil market. The developer was pressured by investors to drop the price but refused, saying he was so confident in the building he would rather buy and hold the units himself before he would lower the standards and price of the building. Whether that story is true or just an urban legend, it went a long way toward making The Huntingdon one of the most sought-after and coveted addresses in Houston. Newer luxury buildings have come along in the last 40 years and some amazing ones are on the way, but none of them are The Huntingdon. It's a local legend.
The Huntingdon houses just 120 condominiums and each one features a corner balcony and unobstructed views. I hesitate to even use the word "condominiums" here because they really feel more like River Oaks estate homes that happen to be vertically stacked. And many of them are just as big, with two-bedrooms going from 3700 square feet and three-bedrooms with well over 6000 square feet on the top floors.
The service here is next level. The professional staff anticipates what residents need and can make just about anything happen. And they're discreet... oh the stories they must know! But we'll never hear them. The amenities are as you'd expect with 24/7 concierge, vigilant onsite security, valet parking, a state-of-the-art fitness center, two swimming pools, a spa, a sauna, a community room, pet park, a conference room and more.
