This area is anchored by the world-famous Houston Galleria Mall which is a pro and a con. If you're in one of the buildings within walking distance then it's definitely a pro. You have world class shopping and dining at your doorstep. However if you have to drive then you have to deal with the TRAFFIC. My God - The TRAFFIC. It can be a nightmare. But that's only because there are so many great places to go in a small concentrated area. But seriously if you have drive a lot and commute to other parts of the city daily let's talk first because the traffic around here is no joke.

Is the Galleria area car-dependent?

Yes, like much of Houston the Galleria area is pretty car-dependent. Once you're home you'll find it's one of Houston’s more walkable neighborhoods, with shops, dining, and services close to residential towers. However when it's time to go Downtown or to one of the airports you'll need a ride as there is no rail or other direct way to get around.

How much do condos in the Galleria cost?

Many people are surprised to find that the Galleria area actually has a wide range of condo prices, with one-bedroom condos in some older towers starting in the $200,000s. Of course that number goes up fast when you move up to the newer towers, and larger units and penthouses can easily command prices north of $2M.
