Downtown Houston Living

Like anywhere there are definite pros and cons to downtown Houston living. Let's start with some pros: If you value walkability you'll love living here. Our downtown district is pretty compact, and you can walk to most of the entertainment venues and popular restaurants from most of the condo towers. If you want to look at your window and see tall buildings around you this is the place. When it's time to leave downtown you can take the METRORail to get to other parts of town.

Let's move on to some of the cons. Living in the center of America's fourth-largest (and growing!) city can be noisy. Street noise, nightlife, cars with loud exhaust... these can all be a nuisance. If having peace and quiet is important to you be sure to focus on buildings with thicker glass and balcony doors that close tightly. Green space is available in downtown but it's not nearly as prevalent as it is in other neighborhoods like the Museum District and Montrose so that's something to be aware of, especially if you have a dog.
