My Take on Capitol Lofts

The Capitol Lofts building is one of Downtown Houston’s classic historic building conversions. Originally built in the early 1900s and later converted into residential lofts, the developers retained much of the industrial character while creating modern living spaces.
The residences here are the real deal and have a lot of true loft features, including exposed brick walls, original concrete or hardwood flooring, open beam ceilings, exposed ductwork, and wide open floor plans. Many units also feature oversized factory style windows that fill the spaces with natural light.

Capitol Lofts is literally surrounded by restaurants, theaters, bars and parks. And more are on the way as Downtown's residential community continues to grow. There's plenty you can walk to from here including Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park and Discovery Green. The Theater District is close by too. But if you do want to venture beyond Downtown you'll find the METRORail Red Line picks up on Main just outside the door to connect to Midtown, the Museum District, the Medical Center, and NRG Park.
Residents here have a few essential amenities like a fitness center, rooftop deck with city views, secure entry, and garage parking. Not having a lot of expensive amenities to maintain helps keep the HOA dues a little lower than average, but do keep in mind that this is an old building so repairs and upkeep can be costly. If you want to be in a vintage building that has more amenities in Downtown like a rooftop pool then consider Bayou Lofts or Commerce Towers.
